I can screenshot my VictronConnect app to show you the consumption, too. It’s very minimal even with people constantly opening the fridge for beer on a hot day.

I have an induction cooktop. I got a MagnaSine 2812 inverter/charger on eBay for $500 (they usually go for around $2k) I haven’t finished wiring it yet, but I did temporarily plug the cooktop into it and quickly boiled water off of the 400ah battery bank. I don’t recall the drain, but it wasn’t too much.

What fridge setting are you using. While you still don't have much plugged in run the Victron app for long enough to show the fridge power cycling if you can. The one thing I don't like about the Victron apps is they don't store data for review and you have to keep the app open to see anything useful at all. I wonder if I don't have enough ventilation.

Hi Mary: here's my trace for the Isotherm. You really have to use the PC/macOS desktop version of the Victron app to get anything useful. The fridge turns on and draws 5-6A for 2-3 minutes, with a duty cycle depending on external temperature, fridge fill level, internal. temperature setting. With average setting and configuration the duty cycle is about 20-30% on and the remaining time off.

I will download the app for my computer to check like you did, but I believe mine does the same draw. I do not think it cycles on as often, though.. even with the sun shining directly on it. I have it installed where the oven once was (different galley location than your boat). It has some open space to port/behind the fridge, and I left a space open on top in the counter for ventilation.

I've been scheming about a gimballed induction top.. It will have to be fabricated. Putting a silicone mat on top of the stove works quite well to keep things in place, but depends on the roughness of the water.

Hi Mary. I know you sail at a much more sophisticated level than we do. I just had a couple of thoughts on how we've handled our stoves. If you're just going to be cooking while at anchor or at the harbor, a simple chain cradle would only take a few minutes to rig up. This is the rig that has worked for us but we do not use the stove when underway. If we want warm food during a passage then the mate pre-cooks it and puts it into an oven safe pot in the icebox. When we're ready for a hot meal we just throw the pot in the oven, bungie the oven door closed and it can rattle around all it wants. For hot drinks and soups we pre-cook it and put it into thermoses hot. If however you need to cook underway then a full gimbaled stove top with rails to hold the pots on the stove. Clamp on pot holders to hold the pots on the burners. Tops on the pots to hold the food in the pots.

Oh... And don't forget a galley harness and a leather apron.
