Looking for info on max prop diameter for a Cal 29 with a diesel eng with a 1:1.1/2 trans.

I would refer you to the files and downloads section. Access Cal 29 Lapworths line drawing , July 1968. As designed it looks like a 12" prop. That would be for a 30hp Atomic Four. There are many online prop calculators, but I think you are going down the right road to ask sailors that have already tried different configurations. If the prop is too large it will cavitate under the hull. You need to know the hp and torque curve. I'm running on two blades of a three bladed prop. Thankfully we do not power much. You can see the tip of the blade is missing. Good Luck!
