One of our first modifications was a full size sink. I makes it so much easier to use. We replaced the old chromed faucets with brass low volume, which also helps with water consumption. We had to replace the water pump the wiring and the hoses, of course.

The board above the sliding cabinet doors was plain plywood after we stripped off all the old stinky vinyl. We replaced it with teak plywood. The original under deck lights were bad plastic, so we replaced them and the wiring with LED teak and brass traditional lights. The cabin overhead lights are on the list for a LED and teak makeover. The cockpit ports were a logical substitution for all the holes from dead and outdated gauges.

After throwing out all the rotted stinky cushions we changed the set-up to a more traditional style. It required a 8 foot teak rail to cover the exposed lower shelf edge. The aft chainplate cover was plain plywood under the vinyl, so I made a new one from teak. After cleaning and bilgecoating the entire lower hull we sealed the bilges from the cabinets so we needed to add teak ventilation to all of them. We added teak access doors to some of the areas, which makes them a lot more convenient to utilize.

When we are rail down on the port tack you can see the large teak venting for the galley cabinets.

We added a ventilated teak access door to below the v berth, there is at least enough room for the toilet paper and supplies for the head. We rewired the AC and added teak framed GFCI outlets. The 77' has a finished fiberglass overhead liner from the main bulkhead forward so we didn't have to strip vinyl from the overhead. I added a matching opening forward port to add more air and light in the forward area. We also added a deck hatch over the v berth for the same reason. We removed the showerhead and plumbing because it was not practical. Excuse the loaded v berth we were headed out for a week at the Island.

I removed the vanity and head area and cut the forward cabin sole out to replace the beam of death. It reassembled easily, but due to engineering considerations the pan is now 3/4 of a inch further forward. The faucet matches the one in the galley. The under deck lights up forward are brass with two LED lights for low light when you need to use the head in the middle of the night and high light for regular use. The antique mirror is a nod to our past boats and family history. We do not have curtains on the forward ports. Experience of always wet troublesome fabric. So stained glass appliques have worked well. You may notice the head is absent from the photos. Well, I haven't started that improvement. We currently use a electric flush with a built in 5 gallon holding tank. I am still gathering teak to tackle probably the most difficult cabinet job on the boat. So many projects... so little time. Smooth sailing all!

Thank you for sharing. Your teak looks very nice. I enjoy seeing how other boats are laid out and kept.

Thanks guys. Lots and lots left to do. When I bought the boat it had a teak cabin sole under the muck. I hope someday to clean up the strips and reinstall them.
