Hello to all here on the new Cal site. I am the owner of a 1980 Cal 27-2 of which I think I am the 3rd owner but could be 4th. I have owned her for 4 years. I sail her out of Whiskey Island located on the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland Ohio. I moved her here from Sandusky Ohio this past spring because of my busy schedule it didn’t make sense driving the distance to get to her...while CLE may not be the greatest “cruising” area I get on my boat at least 3x/week instead of 1 or 2 weekends per month. I love my little Cal and I look forward to talking to all of you here on this site and getting to know everyone and hopefully getting some good advice. Unfortunately she is now on the hard and I am getting ready for the long Cleveland winter. I can’t wait until April (:

Hi everyone. My wife and I own a 1969 Cal 28 flush deck that we restored, did many upgrades and basically spent a chunk of my retirement on. California Girl was abandoned in a marina here in Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island and I got her in 2012. Her previous owner brought her down here from Michigan. I don’t know whether he was the original owner or not. She’s a sweetie and we love her.

Sweet looking boat! The dog seems to agree. Don't think I've ever seen that model before.
