Ahoy! I'm Bill Morris and my wife Marilu and I have owned Saltaire, our 1966 Cal 30, since December 1997. Marilu and I crossed the Pacific from Panama to Darwin, NT, Australia, on Saltaire from April 2001 to September 2003, and I continued westabout via the two ditches, returning to Los Angeles Harbor in May 2005. You may have read some of my articles about Saltaire's adventures in Ocean Navigator or Blue Water Sailing magazine. I also write about windvane self-steering systems and alternative energy. We still sail to Catalina Island several times a year, but for another offshore cruise (if that ever happens) I would moving up to a larger boat.
