Hello Cal Pals,

I just wanted to check in to the new list, plus...

I have had a Cal boat since the early 70's, won the Cal 25 National in 1972 with "Toro".
I knew I wanted to go cruising after retirement, so kept looking. Jack had launched SATORI in Nov. 1967, later sold the company and went cruising. He had a serious blood disorder, so returned to Newport Beach and passed at the early age of 53. I found out his boat SATORI was for sale, so I went down to look at it, feel in love and bought her Feb. 1982 and moved her up to Long Beach.
We were married aboard her in Long Beach outer harbor 4/15/1982, honeymoon at Catalina Island.

Being a racer at heart, I raced the Newport to Ensenada Race each year until prep for sailing away in 1988. May 1 1988, I retired "the first time" and we sailed south, 1 1/2 years in the Sea of Cortez & west coast of Mexico,+++ Cruising on our Cal 46 exceeded our fondest dreams!

More on request? In 1996 we discovered Bayou Chico, Pensacola, and bought a dock, with house and guest cottage attached. We kept cruising part time, winters south to Florida Keys, Bahamas & Caribbean. Long story short, after age (81) and health challenges, we must sell her
