Several people have asked how they can get the forum at calsailors.com to send them emails like the Yahoo! group does. It is easy to do once you sign up.

NOTE: To reply to posts in your email digests, click on the link to the post and reply via this forum, don't reply to the email.

If you would like to set up email digests to be sent to you instead of checking the forum, there are several ways to do it. One way is to go to the Digests tab in your user control panel. You can set it up to send you emails there.

Go to the top right of the screen and click on your username. In the dropdown menu, click on User Control Panel.

Click on the Digests tab in the User Control Panel on the top right.

Note that you may need to share your time zone to activate it. Update your time zone in the "Board preferences" tab in your user control panel, then click "Submit" before visiting the Digests tab and configuring your email digest settings.

You can also use the feed, if you prefer:
The ATOM feed is located at feed.php
(You may need to install an extension on your browser in order to read the feed.)

Thank you Mary for setting all this up.
I now have a digest set to receive.

I couldn't get the Feed link to work though. I get a pop up on my computer asking how I want to open the file..

Hi Jamesth,

You are welcome. I'm glad you got the digests set up. You may need to install an extension on your browser in order to read the ATOM feed. Which browser are you using?

Brave browser.
Maybe I should try Chrome first before saying the link doesn't work .. : o

Ok, so now I have tried Chrome and clicked the Feed link, but get a page that looks like this (and continues..) :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<feed xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" xml:lang="en-gb">
<link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="feed" />

<title>CAL Sailors</title>
<subtitle>CAL Sailboat Owners Forum</subtitle>
<link href="index.php" />

Brave uses Chrome extensions.
Try this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... lcdlnohgmp
or this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... kbehjpfkah

Let me know how it works for you.

(that page you're looking at is an XML file that the extension will make sense of for you :) )
