The unit 0 has a max length of 38.5 ft while we unit one has a max length of 52 ft The unit one is more expensive. You would need to call Harken or send them a email to see if there is a difference in the bearings, the construction appears very close to the same. My unit 0 from 1992 looks entirely ...

Once you found where the water is coming through down below hopefully it will make it easier to find where it's coming through on the deck.

Well one of our primitive ways of finding a source of a leak involves a roll of paper towels and some patience. You cram paper towels into every nook and cranny near the leak. We even go so far as to tape little pieces of paper towel to some of the flat surfaces so we can track the trace of water ...

We are using a Harken unit 0 from 1992 and even with much abuse it is still working great.

Hi Mary. I had two chainplates made up at a shop in Gardena that was recommended by King Harbor Marine Center. It was 300$ for two. A easy swap-out with new bolts nuts and washers. Hi Allan, if it were truly steam then something's hitting that water at 216°. It could just be condensation from the temperature differential. The hot exhaust gases with lots of moisture condense when it hits the colder air. I'm sure you've considered this but I just thought I should mention it ...
