The cal_boats yahoo forum has a files area where you can post files and retrieve them via a web interface. It's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cal_Boats/files/. Not as simple/powerful as FTP, but FTP is becoming somewhat rare these days. And the group's files page lets you add descriptions, etc. Also available at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cal_Boats/ is a web interface for reading/posting messages, chat service, photo area, links page to point to related topics, a database thingy that I've always found to be overkill but is the perfect place for things like the hull ID list, a polling service to ask questions, and a calendar for events. It's pretty cool. I've used Yahoo groups for 5 years now for other activities and never had a bad experience. Nick, I hope you set the list to be restricted to members only. And after a while you might want to make membership a moderated activity, where you have to approve requests to join. Sadly, it's the only way to keep spammers off.
