Hi All, Just got back from Biloxi/Gulfport Mississippi doing volunteer disaster relief work with Samaritan's Purse for the people hit by the storm. Makes our little problems seem trivial. I would like to second David's comments and again wish the Boyle's all the best, but I too will be on the Yahoo list. Business plan

John Dawson2005-10-31 17:28 UTC
Michael Kennedy said that he didn't understand the business plan. I don't either. Some of the other societies I belong to have open figures and state what their needs are and why. Like Roger, I only used the mail and ftp site, so the argument that the improvements in the last 8 months justifies the fee was not a great argument for me. If that were the case, I would think it would make more sense to have all their lists free or a minor charge, and access to all the other wonderful features under a subscription plan. That way the Boyles would know if there was a demand for their building a cyber-empire with loads of features instead of a simple boater magnet. For those who patronize their other features, the fee might be worthwhile and the lists would guarrantee traffic. I'm afraid I am left with the impression that at some point the plan included a one-weekend powerplay after getting established. I'm not determined to get a free lunch, but I think the reactions were anticipated and 'misunderestimated'.
