If I may comment briefly.... It was obvious this would happen. The next thing is they will either go back to free, or they will fizzle out altogether. Quite possibly they will end up in bankruptcy in a few months. I posted a lengthy email to them as to why it wouldn't work. I've had a little experience with such efforts. No one is going to pay an annual fee to be on an email list. Or at least very few will. I think the experience of this list is a good example, but there have been many others. The remarkable thing is that, with the experience they have, they could possibly think otherwise. I don't know them and don't want to cast aspersions, but one has to wonder at the motivations when it is so well known that email lists are not "subscription" items. At any rate, unfortunately, they have already set in motion their own demise. I doubt it would have been much different if the original plan had been the one they are now proposing. For most people, $12 or $36 is not much different in the grand scheme of things. It's more the principle. The Sailjazz site didn't offer anything that wasn't abundantly available for free on the Internet anyway. And email lists are a dime a dozen, for no cost. I feel like this list has a very good group of people, based on my short membership here so far. I'm happy to be here, and I appreciate all of you. Chock it all up to yet another little lesson in the development of that wondrous thing we call the Internet. And thank you, Yahoo. Mark -- J. I like it here on Yahoo. I was not receiving many posts at sailjazz so I was always out of the loop on discussions. Yahoo is stable and more "cyber present". Daniel Casey "Air Time" Cal 9.2R #75 Santa Barbara, Ca.

After the way we were treated, I see absolutely no reason to go back. Yahoo is great for my needs.
