If you are choosing between gifts, disposables and keepers, I would catagorize the WM knife as disposable (unless they improved them lately.) They were nay Scottish, if you know what I mean. I have owned 2 WM knifes, the first was REALLY good so I bought a second and it was crap. I recently bought a Merchim knife at WM and am really happy(of course the WM knife was 20 bucks and the Merchim was 50, I guess I got what I paid for). --- In Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com, John Dawson <jdawson229@y...> wrote: > > If you are choosing between gifts, disposables and keepers, I would catagorize the WM knife as disposable (unless they improved them lately.) When the knives arrived yesterday, what I thought was a West Marine knife, turned out to be a really slick Kershaw rigging knife, so I won't have to find out if the new W-M knives are garbage or not! Got lucky, I guess. I can't find the exact one on the Internet, but it has one of those doohickeys you use to open a shackle as well as a can opener type blade, a regular blade and a really solid marlinspike.
