We are selling sweat equity. The toe rails have to come off. The
inside of the hull is being stripped. The new water tank and holding
tank are going in over the next month. All offers are accepted and
Cabrillo Marina, berth 29, B 37 will be open to all comers the next
few weekends.
It just looks good because you can't see inside. I'll post more
photos as the work goes on.
If I had known a year ago, what I know now I probably would have put
it on a cradle in a vacant lot for 2 years.
Still, it is pretty if you don't look too close.

Mike -
To do this job right takes a lot more than putting it on a cradle for two
years. Try five to six years on my 29. Try a lot of sweat equity and/or
money.
One of the important things I've learned from the rebuild process is the
need to put together a project list with milestones and associated tasks.
For each task, you also need the estimated resource requirements (money,
skills, materials, parts, etc.), time requirements, and the estimated
completion dates. I use Microsoft Project for this. When you started the
project, that was the reason for suggesting that you needed to manage this
just like a business project.
John Harrison and others who have been through these really extensive
rebuilds will support the complexity of this task. It just about gets down
to disassembling and reassembling the entire boat. Aarrgghh.
But in the end, it is more than worth it for the joy she will bring you and
all who look at her.
Keep up the great work.

Just what I needed to encourage me as I set out this weekend to get
the rest of the interior stripped and painted.
I paid a small fortune to get a lot done by others. If I knew then
what I know now I probably would have put it on a cradle and not
painted it for a year. On the other hand, I have family members
saying "Are we there yet ? Are we there yet ? Are we there yet ?" We
will make it to Catalina next summer and it will be 90% complete by
next spring. The final 10%, of course, will take years.

You are far too organized. If I were that organized, I would have
known better.
Happy Thanksgiving. I'll be the guy with the grinder and resin. Brief
stop to eat turkey.
