Sailing Photos, abd cal at sailnet.

I started a group called Sa… [at] msngroups.com....or something like tht..couple of years ago. All for sailing photos. Plent of room to post photos there. Jerry In case some haven't noticed. A group bought out sailnet and revived it. They revived the sailnet cal group site as well, and I'm getting posts from members. Ahh...divide and conquer! AAAAaaarrrgghh1

Decided to make the 50 mile trip to the marina, wanted to add antifreeze to the keel well and see the brand new WM here. Since it was supposed to start snowing at noon, this was supposed to be a quick trip. Just inside the gate, I was surprised to see a familiar bow in a new spot. They moved her unannounced for the third time, and carelessly placed her bow down, leaning to port and with the blocks under the clearly marked hollow end of the keel. All rainwater on deck went forward to the area of the damaged gunwale, and then inside. The bilge was full with lakes in both pans. After my complaining in the office, the yard crew showed up with the forklift instead of the slings, and spent a very ersatz hour maneuvering her right, just as the snow started in ernest. With a long stretch of subnormal temperatures coming and the keel full of water, something bad may have been avoided. As it was, I got off with a very long trip home in a crawling snowy rush-hour. Half Hitch had been moved to the other side of the road as well; her cover has a tear at the top. Sorry Dan, but I didn't manage to take a close look at her, or several other boats of interest. Have been enjoying several lighted boat parades in the area, but now they are frantically winterizing. I guess the moral is, make regular visits all year, even when you are pretty sure things are okay. Thats what I was taught somewhere long ago.
