Dave, A question about your 1980 Cal 35; does it have midship cleats and are they useful for you. If they are installed, any negatives? They were designed out of the MK II's. Thanks, Tim Odom 1984 Cal 35

Tim, Yep, she has them and I use them all the time for spring lines and for tying my dink along side when I'm at anchor. But with the aluminum toe rail, there any many way that you could secure a line to it to serve the same purpose. I guess the question is, based on my experience, would I go thru the trouble to install them if my boat didn't have them. If the cleats were cheap - yes. Otherwise, I think you can live without them and it eliminates a potential toes stubbing obsticle.
