I really like the hatchboard idea! We have a pair of marine (but I expect not weatherproof) Jensen speakers that we have mounted on the main bulkheads. They are great when below, and when cranked up, we can hear them in the cockpit. The CD player draws down the house battery rapidly, however, so I use it mostly for the radio. My plan was to make a lower hatch board just tall enough to accommodate a couple of all weather speakers with enclosures on the back. They could be mounted to face in to the boat when moored or outward when under way. And then of course they could be stowed when necessary. I have not installed a stereo yet because I have a 13 year daughter whose musical tastes would ruin any cruise. I prefer peace and quiet. I would be interested in other peoples ideas as well, particularly owners of C29s. Terry Spencer Kailoa III Cal 2-29 Tacoma
