Hi All, Of course it's winter here in Detroit, so whatelse is their to do but check sailing web sites. I checked the new Yahoo database and photos. Sort of like putting a face to a name. Now it's a boat to a name in most cases. I ever put out a albumn, great site so far, alot better than the former ones. Have a look you'll see my Pentex UK suit of sails, shiney and fast. Later, Nick Jade Cal 9.2

I e-mailed the manager of Bayview YC and asked about Cal 40 history. He gave me a name to contact (Who is about 90 years old) for stories of the 60s. I'm still trying to track down Howard Boston (Whose son Skip died last fall before I got a chance to talk to him) partners plus any Cal 40 owners. The boat did not do as well in the light, shifty air of the Great Lakes, so did not have as long a race life as they did in other places. Mike: Who was selling Cals in Detroit? My other boat, a Seafarer, was sold by John Slaven in 1961, and he's still alive and working. A guy on the Seafarer list interviewed him in connection with a work-in-progress on Seafarer Yachts and their boats. I wonder if Slaven had the Cal franchise? Clemens, MI but now seems to be called Harrison Township. I've got an old address at home and will try to remember to check it. I'll send a photo separately since my computer is being stubborn.
