Glad to see you are getting your boat back together. Really loved your idea of the rotisserie, hope you don't mind if I borrow that idea when I redo my mast this coming summer. I've seen all kinds of ways of trying to support a mast for painting but your's really takes the cake. Neil Optima 2-29 Victoria

Yeah, me too.... I had plenty of boats to hop a ride on but I sure have missed the Island Trips. Unfortunately, the Mast Rotisserie had to be assembled (with epoxy) through the masthead crane in order to access all surfaces for painting, and thus was cut to pieces to get it out. Otherwise I could have bequeathed it to your project. The "mast rotisserie" is simply a round disc of plywood and corresponding cradle that I built and mounted through the masthead crane so that the mast could be rotated by an assistant while I rolled and tipped "Interlux Perfection" onto it. It was very successful, in fact the various riggers and yard people that saw it kept asking me who and where I had gotten the mast sprayed. You have to get pretty close to it to realize otherwise.... Happy to answer questions, I learned a lot about the new "Perfection" paint. I'm not sure I like it as much as the "Interthane Plus" two part stuff that Interlux made.
