Well, now don't be too hasty with your scorn! :-) Many new production sailboats come with TVs nowadays at least as an option. Somebody looking to drop $100k - $200k (or more) on a new boat won't mind coughing up an extra few bucks (payable over 20 years) for a neat flat-screen TV. You know, "for the kids". I'd consider it. I wouldn't spring for a fancy dome on the boat, but then again I don't sail for extended periods. And this may make me unpopular for saying it, but I've seen racing sailors that are bigger jerks than any powerboater I've ever encountered. NOTE: I'm not talking about anybody in the Annapolis Cal25 fleet! :-) Dan >From: Scott Sauvageot <rx… [at] hotmail.com> >Date: Mon Feb 13 12:29:40 CST 2006 >To: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com >Subject: RE: [Cal_Boats] New Satellite TV system for boats 25 to 40 feet >Note that the article says "Powerboats" not sailboats. Dan, it's OK. The Annapolis CAL 25 Fleet has its cadre as well. Consider the gymbaled steerable antenna so you can watch underway. Then get a bigger alternator.
