new to group

I just joined the group and it looks great. I have a 1979 ? cal 27 with a poptop that I sail on
Lake Superior. It was in pretty bad shape when I got it but over the years have been
putting her back together. If anyone has info, plans, measurements for the material that
went around the poptop that would be great
thanks

What's home port on Lake Superior? It's always nice to see more Great
Lakes sailors on the list.

Can't help with the pop top, but I have a CAL T/2 (27 footer) and
things are similar except mine does not have a pop top. Welcome! I
rebuilt my 1972 as well.

I certainly welcome another Cal 27pop-top to the group, and to
another G.L. sailor. The only thing I don't think I could do is sail
Superior. Been there (s. shore) dozens of times, lake was always
rough (and COLD). What Hull # do you have?

Lee,
I have a 1972 Cal 27 pop-top here on Lake St. Clair, and have the
original manual, as well as the 1972 M.O.R.C. rating sheet for it. What
other info do you need, that I can possibly supply? We are the second
owner, and the PO bought all the bells and whistles available in 1972
for her, including canvas for the top (when up).
You can reply off-list if you wish...

The lake can be cold a rough and it is a good thing Duluth has a big harbor to
sail in even then your feet get cold when water comes in the cock pit. I have
no idead of how to figure out the hull number but here is the number I did find

Lee -
Looks like you have an HIN from before 1984 ;-) - so your hull number is either 27256, but more probably the first 2 digits - 27 - is the general model number and the 256 is the hull number for the series. The 1273 is most likely Dec. 1973 - the certification date.
