Chris, my source (Bacon Sails) sez the short stick has an I of 35'.
The equation does not account for any rake. On the CAL 25s my way, we
have removed the rake, anyway. Makes the steering more neutral.

oops, yeah.. pythagorean.. right triangle! doh! :-P
Except on the T/2 its not the tall mast, so its just:
sqrt(34.5^2 + 12^12) = 36'6" (approx)... which is still off by ~8"
according to the forestay specs... hmmn..
Maybe this is because the above number includes the shroud adjuster /
toggles etc, whereas the forestay length is just from thimble to
thimble?
