The mast sits on top of the cabin house.....not on the deck. This may?
be why everybody id different. Is the mast on the boat? Do you have an
existing jib halyard? Let's stop all this guessing! Any sailmaker will
tell you to take a 50 foot tape measure and pull it up to the top of
the mast with the jib halyard and measure down to the pin. Don't forget
to make it shorter so that you can account for the turnbuckle. I did
this and mine is perfect! IMHO.
