Cal 2-27 Rudder Post

Hello Listees, My 2-27 has developed some side-to-side play in the rudder post. Depending on the sea conditions, steering can be "sloppy". I found a posting at http://pages.sssnet.com/go2erie/qa3.htm that suggests this can be repaired using epoxy mixed with graphite. Personally, I'm thinking about having Magic retrofitted with rudder bearings. I'm looking for input.
