Roy Disney -- first post

Roy Disney, filmmaker and Walt Disney Company leader, who, with his Pyewackets and other, earlier boats, conducted what may be the most successful sail racing program in the last three decades, will be bringing his co-producer, Leslie DeMeuse, to Reno on June 10. Together, Roy and Leslie will present their amazing sail racing films and recall the experiences of Roy's thirty-five-year campaign to take some of the most venerable sailing trophies in the world. This is a benefit for the kids' sailing programs of Sierra Nevada Community Sailing which I founded with two friends six years ago. The "Sagebrush Sailing Academy" teaches nearly four hundred kids to sail each summer and is running a successful high school racing program, teaching focus, courage, personal reponsibility and community volunteerism here in the middle of the high desert.
