My stove uses denatured alcohol. Slightlyu dangerous to light because you have to fill a cup with alcohol and let it heat the burner before it can be used. I'd rather have propane if it were my choice.
I would guess mineral spirits would require a similar system as alcohol if I were to bet.

Anyone have any experience with stoves which use mineral spirits as a fuel
alternative?

I've heard of using an alcohol "paste" to pre heat the burner. It comes in
a tube like tooth paste. You squeeze out about 1/2 inch of it and light it.
I believe it is used as a fire starter. Anyone have experience with this?
Sure sounds less messy and safer.

How about a some sterno for the purpose? A little dab'll do ya.
CAL 25s came through with a 2 burner alcohol stove as standard
equipment. We all got rid of them pretty quickly. It's the invisible
fire that is scary.
Cheers

Apologies
Rog Jones2006-07-06 17:54 UTC
Just found out yesterday that one of my email addresses hadn't been popped
by my Outlook since last December. Aarrgghh. There were several thousand
messages on the server - far too many to read and respond to.
I'd like to apologize to anyone who sent me an email on that address
(sw… [at] sbcglobal.net - now working, but not my primary).
If it was important, please resend it to my primary email address, which is
ro… [at] nvsailing.org and (assuming it clears all the spam filters and it isn't
pornographic) I should get it and will respond.
Again, apologies to those who probably think, "What a jerk, he didn't even
reply!"
Thanks.
