Anybody up for a new site
Anthony2006-07-12 05:12
That is dedicated to Cal Sailboats? I just got my first sailboat,
which is a 71' Cal 27...I searched the web for info but was not able
to get much info. So, I was thinking of doing a simple site for Cal
owners to chat, discuss and share...I know others tried but did not
follow through.
This would be a free site with no pop ups or other advertisements
trying to sell something but a way for me and others to learn.
If you think you would use the site, let me know. I have a few domains
I would like to try but would like feedback first.

We have a great forum for chatting and sharing Cal related information.....This yahoogroup! An online data repository with more storage space would be useful, but for sharing thoughts and ideas, this e-mail group is great.

Why not create a Cal 27 site with a link to this listserv?
I was hit by the same bug after buying a Cal 28. Very little information
anywhere. So I published a Cal 28 site with a link to this group, and with
links to every other useful site I found. Cal 28 owners found it and told
me of this site. No need to further dilute the discussions regarding Cals
all over the net.

P.S. Here is photo of last weekend's run to San Diego Bay. Even with old
sails, she still gets up and moves.

I'm happy with the Yahoo group. We started off as a Sailnet group but
then Sailnet went through several deaths. My only gripe about Yahoo is
very minor--my e-mail program makes it hard to delete portions of the
message I'm replying to. Otherwise, there's no reason for another
wholesale move and attendant loss of participants. We're already
chatting, discussing, and sharing, right here, on the subject of Cal
boats and Jensen Marine and sailing.
