Cannibal in the Chesapeake

Hi Cal Pals, Just thought I would inform the Chesapeake folks that our next door neighbor just arrived and will be roaming the bay this summer in "Cannibal" his Embroden designed 54' sailboat. CA Derivas and wife Bettie, were neighbors in Seal Beach and we had our boats on adjacent gangways in Alamitos Bay. We retired and sailed away in May 1988, they left in Jan 1989. We met in Puerto Vallerta for a visit, then they headed west and we stayed in Mexico another year. They continued their circumnavigation and we roamed around through the Panama Canal eventually ended up in Venezuela in 1993. Cannibal arrived in Puerta La Cruz later that year. Later we ended up next door neighbors on Bayou Chico. A few years later they did another round-the-world trip. So if any of you see the Cannibal around the Bay, give a hail and check out a unique, fast boat,Turkish leather interior cushions, twin dagger boards, motors at 10 knots, balances and sails almost as good as a Cal boat. They are in Annapolis now. Sometime in the future y'all are gonna see Satori back up there. Our 3 months in 2001 were not enough to really enjoy the Chesapeake.
