Updating Cal 33 Swim Ladder Dinghy Outboard Motor Deploy and Store
chuck_sunsea2006-07-19 22:28
I ran out of Stern Rail when I added Stern Rail Seats. No room
for the motor or a sling/crane to deploy motor to dinghy
If you look at the Photos I had the orginial Swim Ladder Hinges
Remade about 9 inches long. The weight of the motor
was displaced over a larger area. Also using Starboard I made a
swinging Motor Mount. Using the winch I was able to deploy the
motor down. The motor pivioted perpindicular to the water.
Cleat it off at the proper height then hoisted onto The Dinghy
Transome. It worked Well.

Chuck,
That engine deployment system looks really cool!!! Can you post some more pics with it partially and fully deployed? A picture of the swinging mount without the engine would be useful too.
Nice awning. It will be very useful in the tropics and it looks like you can sail with it up in moderate wind. Thanks.

Thanks Dave
Awning:
Actually never had to take down the Bimini even though we were
in the Trade Winds for a long time.I didn't want to trip
over standard Bimini supports that attach to the boat decks. So when
I had the stern rail altered for Seats I had the Bimini nade at that
time to fit on top of. I was surprised its as strong as it is. Also
had the support rails made for Solar Panels on top. But was able to
beef up the Battery Banks to 525 Amps so we didn't need Solar
panels. See Below
We used ice for a fridge for 2 years. A must simpler Lifestyle.
We met a lot of cruisers who because they kept pumping Amps into the
Batteries they were burning out their batteries and electrical
systems.
I hade a single Battery Box made of Polyproplene that held (5) 105
Amp in the same spot as the orginal 2 Battery Box System.
I added 2 more photos of the Updated Swim Ladder Hinges and Pivot
