Hey Rog just another question. Cal 30 1966

I have been looking through some original paper work, it is really
difficult to read but mentions a grounding system to the mast and
chain plates.
I have looked and looked for some sort of evidence of it. I have found
that there is some sort of metal tube, possibly copper tubing, that
runs along the prt side of the hull interior. It is glassed in and
runs behind the water and fuel tank before disapearing into the
bulkhead that seperates the main cabin and the head. It does not pop
out in the wet locker on the other side of the bulkhead. Any ideas?
Thanks

Most (but not all) of the boats were bonded using a 10-gauge twisted wire
cable that was connected to all the chainplates, the mast (with a copper or
aluminum strap) and then to the engine. Thru-hulls were bonded as well. You
can look for these cables under the berths and to the thru hulls. Many later
owners replaced the thru hulls with plastic and removed that bonding. Again,
though, not all of the boats were bonded.
Hope this helps.
