Bruce gets an E for effort. :~] However, the brackets don't necessarily look like that any more. (Note that the tips are available separately as someone else asked.) Steve Seals went to a different vendor and had them made. The new one has 3 holes on each side of the bracket face for SS 3/16th pop rivets. The bolt that goes through the compression post actually goes through the inside of the holes where the spreaders insert. Steve asked me for comments on the parts and their installation a while back, and I need to get back to him. Not sure if he stuck with the new vendor or not. Mine work fine on my CAL 25, but I had to redrill the through hole in the mast a few inches up to have the brackets in the same place on the mast. Also, the lower spreader tangs (also held by the through bolt) came out a little short.
