Rub rail for Cal 31

Anyone know if the rub rail on a Cal 31 is still made by somebody? Or should I just find something from Taco or RubRails.com that comes close? I noticed a company that does OEM rails for some Cals, but the 31 was conspicuously absent. Thanks. Jack

Check with Steve Seals. As Rog said, Steve worked at the original Jensen facility in the 1960's. Here is his site: http://www.sealsspars.com/ He makes replacements for other Cal Boats, and I believe he will work on others, too. Let us all know what he says. Hi Jack, I already checked with Steve Seals for the 31 rub rail. They don't make it. I looked at all the expensive Taco stuff which did'nt really fit anyway. Considered making something out of HDPE myself but ended up buying one off the shelf from the local boat store. I will try to find out the manufacturer if you like. I Sealed the hull deck joint with Sikaflex before redoing the rub rail. When you remove the old you will find that the hull-deck joint is not uniform- it has a flange on both edges that is quite variable in heigth and thickness. Seals called this the 'new style flange' and said none of his stuff would fit it. The hull-deck joint on the 31 is riveted togather, then glassed over on the inside. There is some sort of sealant applied (i assume) at the factory that was all dried up and mostly fallen out.
