Mast Length

Good morning sailors, I need to remove and perform some maintenance to the mast on my 1979 Cal 34-III. The original brochure says the top of the mast is 45 feet above the water line. At the moment I do not know the distance between the water line and the deck where the mast is stepped. Any help with the total length would be appreciated.
