This is mostly just metal, fabricated to your needs. Find a metal fabricator with an "ironworker: and you're set. Stan Honey enlightened me to the following: As for the material you might consider Alloy 954 Bronze chainplates "Aluminum Bronze" if you are racing, or want to make sure you minimize future failures.. The specs on 954 is that it is as strong as SS but is much more resistant to crevice corrosion. It costs a bit more than 316 ss so maybe that's why Jensen didn't use it originally. For the same reasons you might consider Silicon Bronze bolts. dEmO From: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com [mailto:Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Keith and Susan Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 12:49 PM To: Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com Subject: [Cal_Boats] Backstay Chain Plate Hi All, We're looking for a source for purchase or manufacture of a backstay chain plate. Hi, I have a lot of good used chainplates from the boats I have parted out. Tell me what size and I'll see what I have.
