Cal 48
Somebody started a discusion of Cal 48s. It may have been on the
Sailnet list but here is a site:

That is devoted to one family's Cal 48 and its restoration. It is a
huge job but I've been there with the 40. I looked at a Cal 48 the
weekend of my 60th birthday when I took my kids to Ensenada for a
weekend. I had seen the listing and wanted to see the boat, which was
in Ensenada. It had been well restored for a cruising business hat
never took off. If I could have found a 50 foot slip, I would have
gone for it. That was before the 40 class revived.
They are lovely boats as are the 43s. The 43 will fit in a 40 foot
slip, a big advantage but they are 7,000 pounds heavier and there is
no racing class.
We are almost done with our 40. Catalina, here we come.
