I read the brochure on the duchman boom brake. I'm wondering if us folks in the cheap seats (Cals under 30') can brainstrom some way to adapt a Davis Tillertamer to do the same thing less expensively? I've seen other boombrakes in catalogues too. What about two turns around a wide block with a sheave that's frozen and can't turn? I had a preventer rigged on a 47' wooded Kettenberg PCC with a messy long line and a huge rubber band around the boom that I was going have to move about, from side to side, in a race. Lucka-lee or unlucka-lee the race was called for zero vizzability last weekend, and I didn't have to deal with it. Maybe the owner is interested in such a device?? Jerry
