Re: [Cal_Boats] Cal 34 III shift cable
Carl -
You can look at the www teleflexmorse com website -> Products -> Cable controls. The pages there have a good description of the various push-pull cables that are used for controls, and have a description of how the decode the id-number for type and size. Like Chuck said, the length is main difference, and the "33C" cable is the most common in use, although there are some higher-graded cables made that are direct replacements. You don't want to get a replacement cable that is too long - or you'll have a bunch of slack that you need to get fit in somehow.
I replaced Lenochka's shift cable 2 years ago and found it was actually cheaper to mail order a cable and pay shipping from the midwest than to buy it locally. Delivery was within 4 days.

I think your best bet will be to remove the cable and take it over to a good Marine supply store. I just just replaced all of mine and they were all -33 something cables. The length is the difference. If you have a Nani transmission it's a much larger cable. Cables are sold in one inch increments

Hi All,
The cable from the pedestal to the transmission is quite stiff. I've
removed it from the engine side, still in trouble. Since it is almost
30 years old, I think I will replace it. Anyone have a part number for
this? I could take it out, bring it somewhere and match it up, but it
is all covered up for the winter.
Any help appreciated.
