Cal 33-2--Mystery Cut-outs in ISOMAT NG51 Mast
Hi Cal 33-2 owners,
I'm refitting my 1986 Cal 33-2. I wasn't around when the mast was
pulled and prepared prior to the boat being shipped, and there are
two holes in the mast that I can't account for. There are two
holes, one on each side near the top of the mast. The holes are 4"
long x 7/8" wide and have rounded ends. Themast is the ISOMAT NG51
mast.
I want to say that they are halyard exits, however, much lower down
the mast, I have three halyard exits on the port side and two on the
stbd side. These holes are 2 7/8" long x 1 13/16" wide and are cut
square on the ends. At Rigrite, I can find standard mast exit
plates for these holes, but can not find any for the holes near the
top of the mast.
Does anyone else have these holes; if so, purpose? Maybe exits for
extra, external halyards?
Thanks,
Travis Porter
