Randy CAL 2 29 In the days when they were in use, they usually had a separate wheel that controlled the trim tab. It was like a rudder. You may see old photos of big race boats with twin wheels, one inside the other. With a tiller, I don't know how you would control it. When it was outlawed, I suspect that whatever linkage there was just got disconnected. Maybe the thing was welded or bolted.
