1971 CAL 34 trailor specs

Hi all I bought a 71 cal 34 this past fall, I"m looking for a shiping company to truck it from Milwauke to Bathurst Canada, 2500KM"s. If I can"t find one another option would be to build my own trailor and go pick it up myself. Would anybody have one for sail or rent or have the specs so that I could possibly build one?? Thanks Chuck

There are Cal 40 trailers used for shipping them in transit from Hawaii. I don't know who built them but I can inquire. The Cal 34 would be a similar configuration and the lines would help a trailer builder get it to fit. I would think that you could take the measurements and some photos to a custom trailer builder. Then you could use the trailer for winter storage. When I was a kid in Chicago, our next door neighbors kept their sailboat on a trailer in their side yard during the winter. It was probably 25 feet long, looking back, but the same principle applies. Mike Kennedy Conquest Cal 40 # 96 > > Thanks > Chuck >

If you know kids who sail...

If you have or know kids who sail and are out West, you might want to know about this. Disney is flying the entire Morning Light crew to Reno on Saturday, June 16, to meet youth sailors from all over the West. Our non-profit is providing free busing (with onboard sailing movies) and lunches and snacks and giving up to 200 kids ages 12 through high school (maximum, first-come, first-served) to meet and talk with these remarkable young people. One of our sponsors for this is North Sails - thanks to Terry Kohler of Great Lakes 70s fame. The buses will start I San Francisco and San Jose and stop at Treasure Island, Oakland, Stockton and Sacramento. We also have transport available from South Lake Tahoe and Carson City. For more information on Morning Light please see www.pacifichighproductions.com <http://www.pacifichighproductions.com/> . This is a free event, although we are asking those who can afford it to make a $25 donation. But no kids will be left out due financial concerns. That evening, Roy E. Disney, his producer, Leslie DeMeuse, and the entire crew will be the speakers at our annual fund-raiser dinner for Sierra Nevada Community Sailing's youth programs. They will be showing out-takes and rushes from the Morning Light movie and talking about the whole process and the importance of young sailors hanging in there and never, ever backing down from their dreams. You can contact me for details about either event via email at ro… [at] nvsailing.org or by phone at 775-852-2320. This will be the only opportunity to meet the Morning Light crew before Transpac starts in July. Thanks! \Rog Cal 29+ #1 Swiss Navy Cal 2-30 #77 St. Lori's Comet

Cal 9.2 sliding hatch

Yo, Cal 9.2 sailors, dEmO here. I'm replacing my Cal 9.2 hatch, as my old one finally broke. To do this I'm having a form built so the Plexiglas can be melted into the arc shape. If anyone out there needs a new hatch, let me know, and you can save the cost of building the form. Form is $125 Fabricate Hatch $310.00 So you could save $125 bucks, if interested. You'll have to pay freight, but there is no tax here in Oregon. Cheers dEmO
