Re:CAL get togethers

Randy listed upcoming events of interest to the Cal List:
CCCCC
CAL 29 GOBR ,
Ventura and Santa Barbra full moon weekends,
San Francisco CAL 39 get togethers,
Victoria Island and British Columbia rendezvous.
Santa Barbra to King Harbor Bill Lapworth memorial run,
The Florida group for sure,
I remember invitations for the Ensenada Race coming up,
and I am sorry for the others I forget we talk about?
I'm heartened to see the listing for the "Cal 29 GOBR", but as much as I'd
like to claim the Good Old Boat Regatta in October as a Cal 29 event, it
actually is open to any boat whose first model was built in 1975 or earlier.
They even let other marques participate in addition to Cals, such as
Pearsons and <gasp> Tartans! Here's a link (where you can see the stern of a
particularly pretty Cal 29 <big grin!>):

I've got some pictures from GOBR 2006 posted on my Yahoo photo site. We are taking
Conquest to Ensenada. First race after a prop problem kept us out of LAYC Opening Day
last month. The crew will be all Cal 40 owners. Plus Roger, of course. Any Cal group
activity there ?

We are scheduled to do the Newport to Ensenada on Kurt Ford's Cal 39 with a
crew of misfits that include myself, and CAL LIST ALUMNUS and dignitaries
that include Per Curtiss, Kurt Ford (obviously) and Ward Osborne.
The rest of the crew is rounded out with ringers, er I mean friends and
family of above. We'll see you in Ensenada.

Hana will be doing it, too. We'll most likely be in non-spinnaker; half the crew will be kids :) Who else is going?

New MAIN?! Whoa. That should be hot, Mike! Can't tell you how much I'm
looking forward to this race.
See you guys on the 24th of April.

It comes out of Mike's inheritance so it's OK. Dacron main and Mylar genoa. Bottom gets
done on 4/16. We're getting there.

I'll have three mains once this is finished so, if somebody is looking for a cruising Cal 40
main, recently checked and resewn, let me know. I've got to pay for this thing somehow.
Both old mains have slugs for an internal groove and all seams, etc are checked and
resewn. Both loose foot.

Here's to Dad stepping up with much needed new sails!!! (and to our
sailmaker for help on the pricing and a slot in an already tight
production schedule at the busiest time of the year) Now I just have
to fend off installation of the bow anchor roller for another 6 weeks
and we're all set.
