What maintenance is required for the sliding hatch(cal 9 spcificly) does it just slide on the wood with no cleaning or lube?

Jeff, if it is like a CAL 25, there ought to be a track in there, and an inner female track made of plastic. The female track will inevitably break. I finally found a substitute (stainless C-track) for the 25s. If it ain't like a 25, cancel all preceding. I've owned two cals; a 25-2 and a 33-3. On both, the hatches slide on a wood rail. Both were difficult to slide until I was advised to simply put some wax the wood. Since then, no problems. We used a drumel and lightly sanded the inside wood track a bit to get the old dry wood off, then put the wax on it. I have also seen them for sale and they were not that expensive....considering.
