Looks like there's only mild interest in this. So here's what I propose: Sea Star will anchor in Paradise Cove on Sunday, July 8, sometime before noon. We'll drill our big danforth in real good. Anyone's welcome to come in and raft with us. No rsvp needed. BYOE (everything). We'lll have a handheld on vhf 16 in the cockpit. Sea Star has a dark blue dodger and a light grey stack pack, and we'll have all our fenders out. Paradise Cove is at about 37 53.6 N, 122 27.7 W. There's a nice beach if you want to dinghy in. It's a public park. Hi slack is at 0849, max ebb 2.2 at 1111, low slack at 1421. All times about 20 mins later at paradise cove. The currents will be mild on this day. But we'll still anchor fairly well in towards shore, around the 10 foot contour. Low tide will be at about noon, but still +1.7 above datum. The bottom is mud with good holding. Hope a few boats can make it. bw Cal 39-2 #003 "Sea Star" SF Bay, CA From: James Williams To: SF… [at] yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2007 7:45 AM Subject: Re: [SFBay_Cal_Boats] SF Bay Raft Up this year? Bob, it looks like the Cal 39's will be well represented in Paradise Cove. Kathy and I will join you on July 8. We've anchored there for lunches and dinners a fair number of times. We even spent the night once and I haven't worried about the anchor holding. With that gooey mud and without a windless, we usually have a fight getting the hook back up. See you there. I just got back from four days at paradise cove in malibu.. it was a great anchorage to stay at. good sandy bottom that held very well in these crazy winds we had.. a fair amount of kelp, but not too bad. and a good view of the catalina fires.. well i could see the smoke at least. i was the only boat the entire time.. and i took advantage of the restaurant as much as possible.. i would definitely go back again, and next time i will post it so you can go with us chuck.... cheers eric jackson BAREFOOT 1971 CAL 29 CHANNEL ISLANDS CA.
