Garhauer

I have to put in a plug for Garhauer. I replaced my main sheet blocks with Garhauer series 60 blocks last year. Last week I managed to break the derlin piece that accomodates the set screw that fixes the block vs.swivel. I called them (Guido) Monday to see about a repair. He just asked for my shipping address and said he would get back to me. New block arrived today (I had not sent old one back yet). That is GREAT service. BTW new version has ss piece instead of derlin. Mike Make every IM count. Download Windows Live Messenger and join the i’m Initiative now. Geee...... that's special where are they going to send the thing when you are 400 miles out and it's blowing up force 2 or 3 when the thing brakes...... maybe the USCG can fly over the next day and drop it in that hole in the water that was you the day-before...... ****************************** --- In Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com, Michael Robinson <mikesrobinson@...> wrote: > > > I have to put in a plug for Garhauer. If you monitor enough sailing forums you will come to realize that this is only one of many satisfied customer service stories that you will hear re: Garhauer. All gear breaks. Some of it breaks because it's old, or because the emphasis is on light weight materials rather than bullet-proof longevity. Some of it will break because it was poorly designed or manufacturered. A small company like Garhauer (though they are surely growing) is willing to go to great lengths to correct faulty gear and will give their customers the benefit of the doubt on older gear too. I've heard many wonderful stories and have also been a satisfied customer who enjoys dealing directly with a manufacturer that rolls their sleeves up and builds things themselves right here in our own neighborhood. Your sarcasm, (though you make a valid point,) is definitely a little un-just in this instance. I thought it to be a great testament of the company and the service they will give to us. I have no problem spending money on good stuff and like to know the company will back the product. Thanks for the experience Mike. Guess you are going to start selling more Garhauer blocks?
