It is 15/16th wide, but thicker vertically. I've found the cars in resale places as Odin points out, but there is another alternative. Buy one inch modern cars with the plastic sleeve inside and rip out the plastic sleeve. These work. You'd want to get screw downs rather than plunger type because your only hold on top is the screw heads holding the track. However, I think the plungers can work OK in this arrangement if you are up against a screw head. I once found a pair of the old style jib blocks at Sailors Exchgnge in St. Augustine. $20 each as I recall.
