2-27 for sale in Everett, WA.

Howdy folks-
I bought my '78 Cal 2-27 about 10 years ago, and now am more than
ready for the second best day in my life as a boat owner. Sailing, it
turned out, just isn't my bag.
So here's the scoop- the boat has been neglected for much of that
time and will need a fair amount of love by its next owner before it
sails again. It is moored at the Port of Everett Marina, and comes
with moorage, though I don't think there's a waiting list any more.
Here's a quick rundown on the equipment/ condition list.
Sails- Main (fair), 110 (good) and 150 (good) jibs, spinnaker (also
good), and as far as I know, everything you need to use the spinnaker.
Rigging- As far as I know, the rig is original except for a sliding
Harken mainsheet, located forward of the cockpit. Winches are working
and made by Barient. Stays and lines should be looked over by someone
reliable...
Engine- Atomic 4. Ran as of when it was used last, but has sat for
several years. So not guaranteed to run, and will at the least need to
have its carburetor gone through. The gearbox worked fine. The prop is
a folding type. The batteries are shot, but the shorepower charging
system works.
Hull- The 'normal' keel design. The boat has been moored, so will at
the least need a thorough scraping and paint. The hull had never
blistered as of 8 years ago, so hopefully that means that it hasn't
since and won't. The hull/ deck joint has some minor leakage, but
otherwise the boat is watertight.
Galley- Cold water only, alcohol/ electric stove, Norcold
refrigeration unit in icebox (working).
Interior- Nicely paneled in wood slats, and according to a local Cal
aficionado not original. Jenson head, plumbed for pump out.
Extras- Two Danforth type anchors, spare prop, and odds and ends.
Interested parties can contact me via email (an… [at] yahoo.com) or
by phone (360) 649-0480. I'm interested in selling it as is, and am
quite motivated. All offers considered.

This boat is a few slips down from me at the Everett marina. 1978 Cal 2-27 (white hull, brown strip).? I've not seen anyone on this boat for quite some time. I stepped on board with the owners permission yesterday afternoon as he was showing it to someone. The bulkhead on the starboard side has a bit of rot, but not horrible. The boat needs a heavy scrubbing on the outside. The inside of the boat is surprisingly in decent shape... just some cleaning is needed.?It?has a tiller.?The mast is?painted white. The sails look decent, just some cleaning needed. It's located on the southside of the Everett Marina "D" dock, a great dock to be on, as it's close to the restrooms/showers/services.?
This would be a great boat for someone that's interested in investing some elbow grease to bring this Cal boat back to life.
We're out on vacation for a few days, but when I get back to Everett I'll snap a few pictures of the boat and post them.? I have nothing to do with this owner or sale of this boat. I just don't want to see this boat cut up and scrapped.?
