Gel Battery Charging Voltage & Trickle Chargers

I have gel batteries on my boat, and I'd like to put a solar trickle
charger on the boat to keep them topped up. The lit says the float
voltage for these batteries is 13.5-13.8 volts, and maximum charging
voltage is 14.4 volts with max charging amps of 10.5. The solar
charger I am thinking about has an output voltage of 16 and amps of
0.5 maximum. I know gel batteries are sensitive to voltage. Does
anyone know if this will damage my batteries?
Thanks,

in my opinion, Travis;
not only have you answered your own question. but the way i see it,
you have invested in, and are thinking of investing in even more of
the same, top-line expensive hardware. so why stop half-way and put
those gel-cell's at risk.........
