"A Public Apologetic Message......" to Mr. Chris Campbell; and to All Other Members of This Fine Group....... i (fiver) wish to most contritely apologize; first for my most Disrespectful outburst aimed at a Fellow Wooden Ship-Builder. one of a mostly dying breed of Men who's wisdom was for the greatest part, in doing. and not writing books of how they did it. such books having to come after the fact, and written by people with great skill in the pen, but little in wood. i said what i did before everyone here, and therefor i must apologize for my arrogance and lack of respect before the very same people, Sir. please forgive me for my stupidly, Mr. Campbell. Anyone who is evolved in building a wooden planked vessel such as You. has the privilege in my book,of naming any of the numerous timber's that such ships are made of, anything He choose's. this as i know the time and dedication that such work evolves. and each shipbuilding region had their own ways and name's any way. something i bet most books never say. i am truly sorry Sir....... as for The rest of This Group; in all that fiver post's here, i never mean to be a pest. nor do i wish to cause dissension/discord within the group. but i owe All of You a Heart Felt Apology for having done just that. i am Sorry for This. my only reason for being a member of your group is that i have an old Cal-boat. one that i dream of being ship-shape & skookum one day. and as much as i think i live a quite life; other have said i have been very adventuresome and well experienced. i don't know, maybe it's depression that makes my life look so foggy and mundane. but i went out and got something at the store to augment the *med's* today, so maybe i will be right as rain soon (one pound of M&M's)..... anyway, just wanted everyone to hear this. and i shut-up now. fiver....... ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

The best boatbuilder I know never says "you're doing it all wrong." He says "this is how I like to do it...," which leaves some room for disagreement or differing views if that's appropriate. The only thing I'm really fanatical about is the practice of using 3M 5200 as a cure-all for sloppy woodworking or poor engineering. People guilty of this sin should be consigned directly to boatbuilding hell. Or so I have thought when trying to undo things assembled in that manner. Chris Campbell
