Full Battened Main

I am planning to purchase a new main this winter for my CAL 35 and I am considering switching to full battens. Has anyone already done this and what has your experience been? Specfically 1. What type of hardare are you using where the batten meets the mast? 2. Four battens seem standard but some makers recomedt 5 battens. How mang full battens do you have? 3.
