Primarily, the dockmaster just wants it gone. It's currently in a pretty big slip, and he most likely thinks he can get someone new, with a new shing big moat in there and make more money. I've certainly not given up, I'm just a little discouraged. I know I can fix whatever is wrong with that inboard, and the cosmetic stuff is wholly irrelevant to me, as I have an amazing Brush of Scrubbing! Definately if somebody approached him and said "I'll take that boat away immediately" he'd probably be happy with that - except the harbor cleanup program has already said that to him...

How about approaching the harbor cleanup program with an offer to take it off their hands for free? I'm sure they have to pay for disposal--pay employees or contractors to move, haul, and destroy the boat, then pay somebody to dump the remains. If they can remove one boat from the problem list with out denting their budget, maybe they'd be happy, and you would, too. Best of all, get them to haul it out and then give it to you. RE: [Cal_Boats] Cal 28 update!

I kept waiting around on the Cal 20 that was once available at our marina. The asking price was $200. A dockmate said they would probably accept $50, and to offer it. I just about made up my mind to do it when I learned it was scrapped before I arrived. I would hate to see another Cal scrapped for no good reason. I wish I'd acted sooner. I would have had a boat for Mexico and one for San Diego.
