I have a/c!

After 7 weeks on the hard, we have a brand new epoxy bottom, all blisters repaired! AND I have central a/c! Pretty necessary here in so FL, in my opinion. What was supposed to take them 1 week turned into 7, but we've moved back onboard finally. I'm cleaning furiously from the sandblasting mess, but it's livable down here, finally. the cabin is holding 76 degrees very well, making working below very comfortable, unlike the blistering temps I've been enduring here in so FL (almost 2 years!), with this teak deck making it even hotter below. We're the prototype unit right now, sized between the smallest unit and next size up. Seems to be a winner! girlsaylor

ya-know, i was thinking-bout air on BB-54 too! i figured that i could take the roof-top air conditioner off my old trailer and slat it down on the front hatch with a little latex caulking to fill in the big gaps. then tie it down real good with a few bungy cords. that-a hold her good! then i can hang the big cord-real off the back rail so it pays out on it's own. the only part i just can't figure out yet is how to make it reel back in on the way home again...... <scratches head.....> but i'll get it one of these here days...... :)(: 5er ************************* --- In Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com, "jeribelle2000" <girlsaylor@...> wrote: > > After 7 weeks on the hard, we have a brand new epoxy bottom, all > blisters repaired! I've often wished for that nuclear reactor to power the mermaid A/C installed in Wahini (1969 Cal-25 #768) out here on Lake Mead, Nevada. (Why couldn't they have named it Lake Beer, instead?) Fortunately, I spend most of my time in the cockpit sailing and the water is warm enough to float in for hours. It works great when in the slip though and turns into a heater during the winter. Again, only while in the slip. --- In Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com, Marsh Wise <marsh@...> wrote: > > Nuclear Reactor? > > slickbutfoxbuger wrote: > > >ya-know, > >i was thinking-bout air on BB-54 too! > > > >i figured that i could take the roof-top air conditioner off my old > >trailer and slat it down on the front hatch with a little latex > >caulking to fill in the big gaps. then tie it down real good with a > >few bungy cords. that-a hold her good! > > > >then i can hang the big cord-real off the back rail so it pays out on > >it's own. the only part i just can't figure out yet is how to make it > >reel back in on the way home again...... <scratches head.....> > > > >but i'll get it one of these here days...... :)(: > > > > 5er > > > >************************* > >--- In Ca… [at] yahoogroups.com, "jeribelle2000" girlsaylor@ > >wrote: > > > > > >>After 7 weeks on the hard, we have a brand new epoxy bottom, all > >>blisters repaired!
